La brigade se retrouve à l'église où Kyle, le fils de Jill Kirkendall, fait sa première Communion. A l'extérieur, Sipowicz et Sorenson aperçoivent une camionnette de police postée en observation. Les deux agents en civil refusent de leur donner la moindre indication quant aux raisons de leur surveillance, mais Sipowicz et Sorenson découvrent bientôt que Don Kirkendall, suspecté de trafic de drogue, était leur cible... De son côté, Russell enquête sur la disparition d'un bébé, dont le corps a été retrouvé dans une décharge...
