Marta Cuerto, sœur de la chanteuse cubaine Silvana Cuerto, est retrouvée morte dans un club de Las Vegas. Sur son cadavre figure une menace à l'adresse de sa sœur, qui se trouve aux États-Unis pour une tournée. Les premières analyses révèlent qu'elle a été empoisonnée et battue à mort. Nick et Brass découvrent l'endroit où elle a été torturée : l'atelier d'Eddie Santo, membre d'une famille d'émigrés cubains. Les enquêteurs envisagent que Marta a été victime d'une vendetta courant entre les deux familles, sur fond de rivalité politique. Peu après, Silvana tombe évanouie sur scène, victime à son tour d'un empoisonnement...
