From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Eric Kyle Szmanda (/səˈmændə/; born July 24, 1975 height 6' (1,83 m) ) is an American actor. He portrays Greg Sanders in the CBS police drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, a role he has held since the show began in 2000.Szmanda was born in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, the son of Elaine (née Enders) and Donald Szmanda,and has two brothers, Brett and Rob. He attended Mukwonago High School and graduated at the age of nineteen at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. While he was in school, he began marketing internships with music conglomerate BMG and moved to Chicago, Illinois to take a full-time job in the music business.[2] His great-uncle Ray Szmanda is the "Menard's Guy," a local celebrity in the Midwest famous for his enthusiastic ads for Menard's hardware stores.

Eric Kyle Szmanda (* 24. Juli 1975 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. 1998 spielte er seine erste Hauptrolle als Jacob Resh in der Serie Das Netz – Todesfalle Internet, die auf dem gleichnamigen Film basiert. Als die Serie abgebrochen worden war, beschloss Szmanda, sich ganz auf seine Schauspielkarriere zu konzentrieren. Schon bald bekam er die Hauptrolle des Johnny Dodge in Dodge’s City. Die Show führte jedoch zu keinem großen Erfolg, sodass er weiter kleinere Rollen übernahm. 2000 bekam er die Rolle des Laboranten Greg Sanders in der CBS-Erfolgsserie CSI: Den Tätern auf der Spur. Mit zunehmendem Erfolg erhielt er regelmäßige Auftritte in der Serie. Ab der dritten Staffel wurde Szmanda in die Riege der Hauptdarsteller aufgenommen und stieg auch in der Serie vom Laboranten zum echten CSI Level 1 auf. 2004 spielte er den Polizisten Derek in Tom Zubers Film Little Athens und stand 2005 in Hyenas in Hollywood auf der Bühne.
