The world of illegal dog fighting is explored by Grissom and the rest of the team when they take on the case of a wealthy socialite who was murdered. Meanwhile, Warrick struggles to clear his name in the recent exotic dancer murder case.

Le cadavre d'une jeune femme, Liz Rodriguez, a été retrouvé dans le désert, au beau milieu de carcasses de chiens. A partir de maigres indices, Grissom comprend que la défunte a été victime d'un règlement de comptes entre organisateurs de combats de chiens. Or, ces rixes sont illégales à Las Vegas. Grissom pénètre ce milieu peu fréquentable afin de faire le jour sur ce meurtre, qui le conduit tout droit à la bonne société américaine. Pendant ce temps, Warrick poursuit, seul, l'enquête qui lui permettra de se disculper des charges qui pèsent sur lui. Il demeure en effet le suspect principal dans l'affaire du meurtre du «Pigalle Place Strip Club»...
