Les experts décident d'enquêter sur la mort d'une jeune femme. En effet, un site Internet vient de publier la photo de celle-ci, étendue sur un dépotoir, apparemment morte. Les enquêteurs doutent de la véracité de la photo et se rendent sur place. Près du «Strip» de Las Vegas, un corps est effectivement trouvé. De nombreux badauds, parfois munis d'appareils photo, se sont attroupés autour de la scène du crime. La victime est identifiée comme étant une escort-girl. Les experts continuent malgré tout de douter des liens existant entre la photo postée sur Internet et le cadavre. En effet, la jeune femme ne porte pas les mêmes vêtements...
