Scully and Mulder investigate when an art gallery displaying offensive artwork is bombed, and need to discover a way to communicate with the comatose perpetrator to try and prevent a future attack.

Zwei islamistische Terroristen sprengen sich in einer Galerie in Texas in die Luft. Einer von ihnen überlebt – allerdings ist er fast hirntot. Mulder, Scully und zwei weitere Agenten sollen versuchen, trotzdem noch Informationen aus dem jungen Mann heraus zu bekommen. Scully versucht es mit einem Gehirnscan. Mulder zeigt vollen Körpereinsatz: Er schluckt Magic Mushrooms, um im Unterbewusstsein eine Kommunikationsebene mit dem nicht mehr ansprechbaren Attentäter zu finden.
