A British plane is thought to have been hijacked and taken to an American airstrip. Ros is captured by the Yalta organisation when the team shows up and they learn of an international cover-up.

Les relations diplomatiques entre les États-Unis et l'Iran sont au plus mal. Une rencontre informelle a lieu entre Bob Hogan, agent de la CIA, et le consul d'Iran, Dariush Bakhshi. Hogan n'a aucun scrupule à certifier au consul que ce sont les Anglais qui sont responsables de l'explosion d'un train dans son pays. Peu de temps après, un avion-cargo britannique s'écrase non loin de la base américaine de Halesworth. Représailles des Iraniens ou simple coïncidence ?
