While investigating a gas giant, Enterprise comes across a damaged vessel hovering in the atmosphere, and T'Pol, Hoshi and Malcolm board the vessel to investigate. However, once aboard, they are ambushed by a hostile female Klingon who hijacks their shuttlepod and strands them on the Klingon ship, which threatens to implode under the pressure of the planet's atmosphere.

Nachdem die Enterprise ein beschädigtes, klingonisches Schiff entdeckt hat, steigen T'Pol, Hoshi und Reed in eine Shuttlekapsel, um es zu untersuchen. Auf dem Schiff angekommen wird die Shuttlekapsel von einer feindseligen Klingonin gestohlen und die Crewmitglieder der Enterprise damit auf dem klingonischen Schiff zurückgelassen. Archer muss nun mit den Klingonen Kontakt aufnehmen und sie um Hilfe bitten, seine Crew zu retten.
