Brenda can't understand what led to a father's disappearance just as his daughter's single was about to hit the charts making her famous very quickly. Brenda has an opportunity to make her lawsuit disappear by settling with the family that brought it against her but that deal may not be as good as everybody hoped it would.

Le père d'une jeune fille venant de signer son premier single disparaît. Suite à cet événement, le clip vidéo devient rapidement l'un des plus téléchargés sur Internet. La police est saisie de cette affaire. Au bout de cinq jours de recherches intenses, le corps sans vie de ce père de famille est finalement retrouvé dans les montagnes surplombant Santa Monica. Mais les circonstances troubles de sa disparition laissent Brenda perplexe. L'enquêtrice s'interroge sur les raisons de la mort de cet homme, alors que sa fille démarre une carrière de chanteuse. Brenda doit aussi prendre une décision à propos de l'offre généreuse qui lui a été faite...
