Aziz Acar (born March 5, 1969, Istanbul) is a Turkish dubbing director, casting director, and voice-over artist with more than three decades of experience in broadcast media, localization, and voice production. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Işık University. Acar entered the dubbing industry following an intensive seven-year apprenticeship under some of Turkey’s most distinguished dubbing directors, including Kahraman Acehan, Kemal Bilici, Nilgün Kasapbaşoğlu, Dilaver Uyanık, Naile Atasagun, Özdemir Han, and Arhan Erçin. After completing this formative training period, he joined TRT, where he worked extensively on a wide range of Turkish and international films, television series, and documentary productions. Early in his career, he contributed to the Turkish dubbing of internationally acclaimed classic series such as ALF and Bonanza, which were broadcast in Turkey in the late 1980s. In 1996, Acar joined Doğuş Yayın Grubu, where he has served for more than three decades as Head of Localization. In this role, he has managed large-scale dubbing, subtitling, and localization operations and is currently responsible for overseeing all dubbing and subtitling workflows for DMAX, TLC, STAR TV, and NTV. Fluent in English and Arabic, Acar has also been actively involved in international sports broadcasting. He provided voice-over narration for La Liga between 2008 and 2017 and La Liga World between 2012 and 2017, and served as the signature voice of NTV Spor Smart. In addition to broadcast and documentary work, Acar has contributed to the video game industry as a character voice actor. He is the voice of Tejo in Valorant and Hylos in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, further expanding his portfolio into interactive and global entertainment platforms. Acar is also an active audiobook narrator on Storytel, where he has voiced a broad selection of literary, historical, and contemporary nonfiction titles. His narrations cover genres such as personal development, psychology, political analysis, crime literature, leadership, and cultural history, reflecting his long-standing expertise in spoken-word performance, vocal nuance, and narrative interpretation. Alongside his production career, Acar is widely respected for his contributions to professional voice and performance education. Since 2008, he has delivered specialized training programs, masterclasses, and professional workshops on diction, articulation, intonation, and dubbing at Dialog Anlatım İletişim, and since 2011 at Istanbul Technical University. Building on this strong academic and hands-on background, he continues to teach at Küyem–GDC Akademi, where he offers courses in diction, articulation, intonation, and microphone acting, with a focus on broadcast standards, performance precision, and professional voice technique. Aziz Acar has been married to Ayşe Acar since 1994 and is the father of two children, Şevval and Agah.
