Simon David Kinberg (born August 2, 1973) is an American filmmaker. He wrote and produced a number of films in the X-Men film franchise for 20th Century Fox and had produced a number of other projects for Fox, such as The Martian, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Kinberg made his directorial debut in the 2019 X-Men film Dark Phoenix from a script he also wrote. Er schrieb und produzierte mehrere Filme der X-Men-Reihe für 20th Century Fox und war an weiteren Projekten für Fox beteiligt, darunter „Der Marsianer“, für den er eine Oscar-Nominierung als Bester Film erhielt. 2019 gab Kinberg mit dem X-Men-Film „Dark Phoenix“ sein Regiedebüt, für den er auch das Drehbuch verfasste.
